On May 14th, 2016 I reached a very exciting goal that I have been working towards for the past five years. Statistically speaking, a study conducted in California reveals that only 10% of former foster youth will attend college and, of that 10%, only 3% will graduate. This saddening fact has made my recent achievement quite astonishing. As this was no easy task, I did not do it alone, I did this with the support of a few hundred hearts. I myself obtained two business degrees in Marketing and Finance, but I was able to do it because people with beautiful and generous hearts believed in me
I am so thankful and honored to have such an incredible scholarship and family to support me through my collegiate journey. I would not have been able to follow my dreams in dance if it were not for the Guardian scholarship and our Angels
There is so much I can say about my final year at Colorado Mesa University. I’d like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who helped me along my journey and accomplish my dreams of being the first in my family to achieve a college education. This act of kindness has not gone unnoticed and has inspired me to help others in need….thank you for your support and guidance throughout my journey here at CMU.
